Peter Stetina, of World Tour team Trek-Segafredo, will build the Blueprint for Athletes Tahoe Trail MTB into his preparation for the remaining summer World Tour races. A part-time Tahoe resident, Stetina is often seen along Tahoe’s roads but will return to his roots on the dirt for Friday’s pre-ride (1 p.m.) and Saturday’s main event.
“I’m really excited to return to knobby tires for a fun weekend and some much-needed intensity,” Stetina explained. “The past few years I haven’t had a Tahoe summer because of the Tour de France, but this year I’m skipping it for the Vuelta Espana in September, and now I need some race rhythm.
“I’m also excited to hang in The Village at Northstar as a participant, as I have created Stetina’s Sierra Prospect on September 23-24 at Northstar California Resort as well. It’s a Gran Fondo road event, but with a brand new timed segment format to appeal to more people, an epic route and an all-inclusive feel. We have custom beer, coffee, events all weekend and even concerts at aid stations!”
Registrants of the Tahoe Trail 100 can use code “TT-PROMO” for 15% off of registration for Stetina’s Sierra Prospect at www.sierraprospect.com. Northstar is also offering 20% off lodging discounts to registrants.
